DYSON COLLECTIon

Dyson is probably better known for its vacuum products, but they have also make an incredibly innovative series of cooling fan products. We've collated the Dyson products from the other sections (such as Tower Fans and Home / Desk Fans so you can see the options in one place! Find out more about their products below.

Dyson Desk Fan AM06

We can imagine this striking circular bladeless fan standing on any surface in the house (a desk, bedside table, cabinet or chest of drawers for a start!). It is easy to move around as it is only 1.83kg in weight.

We're impressed by the whopping 10 speed settings, and this model is 75% quieter than its previous versions. It now operates at 57.5 decibels, which based on some Google research seems to be somewhere between the sound of a refrigerator and a general gentle office background noise!

Dimensions     55.2cm H x 35.6cm W x 100cm D

Weight             1.83kg

Dyson Personal Purifier Cool Air.png

This personal purifying fan captures unwanted gases and pollutants with something called a HEPA filter, which manages to eliminate 99.95% of particles from the air around it. This is great news for those with allergies.

With 10 speed settings, various timer options, an LCD digital display, remote control and a night light, this personal purifier is perfect to use at a desk, on a bedside table, or wherever else you might be sat close by. We love the fact that it can be set to rotate from side to side, helping to move the air around you

Dimensions     40cm H x 24.5cm W x 24.5cm D

Weight             2.8kg

Dyson Tower Fan AM07.png

Alike the AM06, the AM07 Dyson Tower Fan has an impressive 10 speed settings. It can be programmed to operate in intervals of 15 minutes to 9 hours and is reviewed as being very quiet for a fan, so it would be great at keeping you cool throughout the night (without having to have it on for 8 hours straight).

It only has an oscillation of 90 degrees, but it has a powerful 56W motor to create a strong breeze (if you choose to put it on the higher settings). At only 2.9kg, it is easily portable.

Dimensions     100.7cm H x 23cm W x 19cm D

Weight             2.9kg

Dyson Cooler and Heater AM09.png

It might seem a little crazy to be considering a heater whilst the weather is burning hot, but this Dyson fan is a great investment if you want a unit to cool you down in summer and warm you up in winter. It's probably the most stylish 2 in 1 unit we've seen!

In summer, high velocity air will cool down your room at your choice of temperature and speed. In winter, a thermostat feature switches the machine off once the desired temperature has been met (which is great for energy saving!). It also heats a room safely; there are no visible heating elements, and if the unit gets knocked over then it will cut off.

Dimensions     59.5cm H x 15.3cm W x 11.3cm D

Weight             2.7kg

What makes Dyson fans different to other brands?

The most obvious visual difference is that Dyson fans are bladeless. This innovative technology has a couple of obvious benefits, one being that they are very easy to clean, and the other is that there is no chance that a curious finger could accidentally be injured by blades!

Another benefit of being bladeless is that they tend to be quieter than traditional fans, so getting a restful night's sleep on a hot summer night is easier.

And of course, they look incredibly stylish and minimalist!

How do the bladeless fans work?

Dyson use their very own Air Multiplier technology, and they describe that it "amplifies surrounding air, for high-velocity, long-range air projection". Check out the Dyson website here to learn more about the technology.

Are these Dyson products air conditioning or fans?

The Dyson products we've been looking at are all considered as fans rather than air conditioning. This means that the cooling effect is focused on the movement of air, since blowing air onto your skin helps moisture evaporate and cool you down. This is different to air conditioning, which typically pulls air into the unit and blows out colder air by an energy-intensive process of condensation and evaporation.
